Orte der Bonner Republik

We  have designed and developed a beta version of the complex website that approaches the complex topic of the Bonn Republic. In terms of content, the question of what the Bonn Republic actually is is explored by means of traces (Spuren) and paths (Pfanden). The project does not describe these places anew, but links them to existing projects and instead concentrates on tracking down memories with the status of being worth remembering, if not valuable, in the region and locating associated reference sites.

Moderne im Rheinland is the new research centre of cultural studies and cultural theory and functions as a component of Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf at the interface between regional and transnational research and knowledge institutions in order to research the special features of the regional.
